Monemvasia is a little town in the south east region of the Peloponnese and a few hours drive from Athens. One of the most striking features is that the town is actually carved out a gigantic piece of rock. You cannot take a car inside so travel light as you will either need a donkey or have the unfortunate endeavor of dragging your luggage over stone paved streets.
